Dimensional Metrology Department

Our dimensional department certifies micrometers, bore gages, gage blocks, calipers, dial indicators, thread & ring gages, wire crimpers, tape measuring equipment, and many other measurement tools. We also will do custom measurement of special tools, please send any specifications and tolerances. Any tool we certify must have good repeatability of readings or we will not issue a certificate. All dimensional tools can be tested using any readout such as INCHES, METERS or any part down to MILLIONTHS of an inch.

We also can certify surface plates up to 24 inches and most light meters including black lights. We do not certify any NDT equipment, because the manufacturers will not release the required testing information.

Most dimensional equipment can be repaired, if parts are still available. We stock parts to repair Mitutoyo, Brown & Sharp, Fowler, and Test-rite equipment along with parts for many other major brand manufacturers. Sometimes the lower priced dimensional tools are beyond economical repair because parts are not available.

As with all our other calibration departments, if we cannot repair and certify your tool we do not charge you for any work put into it. If you have any damaged dimensional tools you have nothing to lose, except shipping charges, by letting us try to repair them.

All of our calibration equipment is calibrated regularly with all measurements completely traceable to NIST. We use manufacturer tolerance specification to certify your tools, but we can use any special tolerance you may specify. You will always receive the highest level of customer service when you send your equipment to Tool Testing Lab.
