Force and Tension Department

Our Force and Tension department certifies cable tensiometers, digital scales, spring scales, force gauges, dynamometers, and aircraft scales up to 100,000 lbs per load cell. We test all tension and force tools using electronic calibration transducers and/or class certified weights, giving consistent repeatability of readings. Scales and force gages can be tested using any desired SI unit English or Metric. We also test weld force pressure gauges, force gauges and load cells. We are one of the few companies that certify fabric testers and flying wire tensiometers for biplanes.

Tensiometers up to 2500 LBS cable tension are not a problem for us to test. Tensiometers can be tested using US and/or British(CWT) cables. We can also certify dynamometers and crane scales up to 40,000 LBS. Many special tension and force units can be calibrated by our Tension Department. Weights are another item we calibrate and test. We can do “F” Class weights up to 70 LBS or 32kg each. Provide us with your specifications and we will certify your custom masses or weights.

All of our calibration equipment is calibrated regularly with all measurements completely traceable to NIST. We use manufacturer tolerance specification to certify your tools, but we can use any special tolerance you may specify. You will always receive the highest level of customer service when you send your equipment to Tool Testing Lab.
