Frequently Asked Questions: General

What information do I send in with my tools?

The first time you should send your company name, the name you want on the certification, billing name, address, contact name, phone number, fax number, shipping address if different from billing address, how you want tools shipped back, a list of tools sent, and any special requests. The next time you just need to send your company name, a tool list, and any special requests.

Is there a charge for monthly notification of tools due for certification?

There is no charge for this service. We notify you three times, and if we do not receive the tool or hear from you, the tool will be removed from our active list. You may request to be removed from this complimentary service.

How do I set up an open account?

We trust everyone and will set up a 30 day open account when you send us any tools, and it will remain this way as long as you do not disappoint us by not paying on time.

How will you ship our tools back to us?

Our normal shipping is ground. If you want for us to use any other service, please send your account number and we will honor almost any requested shipping method.

If a tool cannot be certified, what is the cost?

We do not charge for any tool that we do not certify. However, we will apply normal shipping charges when returning your tool to you.

How long do you keep calibration records?

We keep all of our customer and company records for a minimum of five years. We can maintain records for up to 10 years by request.

Can I bring in tools for certification and wait on them?

Yes, but some dimensional tools require temperature stabilization before we can start to measure and certify them. The 100% expedite fee will apply.

If I lose a tool calibration certificate, can I get a copy?

Yes, just call us and we will email or fax it to you.

Will you call if any tools require abnormal repair?

Yes, we normally call if any repair exceeds $15.00 on any tool. Some companies have established a repair charge not to exceed a percentage of new cost, such as 50% or 75%. It speeds up the return time on tools if we do not have to wait on an approval call.

Do you send any tools out for certification?

We will notify you if we cannot certify your tool because it needs repair beyond our capabilities. If this occurs, you can request for us to send it back to the manufacturer for repair.

Yes, you or your new employer can call us and we will change the name on certification and fax a copy to you. Most companies will accept a tool certification with another name on it until the tool is due for recertification
